Post by: Forfit on 2018-08-08 11:50:07
When i save a streaming radio list as playlist, i get only the url.

Hi there,

This is not normally possible as foobar only knows the stream titles while it is playing.

You can however use External Tags (http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_external_tags) plugin or m-TAGS (http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_tags) plugin to make any tags you like to streams.

External Tags requires foobar v1.4 and is probably the quicker and easier option.

m-TAGS method prefers to convert entire library to external m-TAGS and exclude media files, though not necessary if you only want to use it for streams. The disadvantage is that File Operations (rename, move, etc) will no longer work on media files. The advantage (for now) is that it can also tag cover art on streams.

EDIT - If you meant saving the title in the m3u8 file, that would be an extended m3u (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3U) - see link for info. There used to be a foobar plugin for that too - foo_extm3u, not sure where to get it these days (links are dead).

Cheers 8)

I mean:
when i play a radio streaming i see in the title the song title.
this does not interest me.
When i stop a radio streaming instead i see the radio name.
When i save the playlist i see only the ip address and not the radio name.
When i open m3u8 in other player then i see only ipaddress and not the radio name.
I would to see instead also the radio name.

foo_extm3u not is compatibile with actual fb2k.
others not solve my problem.
ty.

Hi!
@Forfit, You are right.
On the attached picture is a fragment of the playlist m3u.
If put that to fb2k the information after #EXTINF: will not be displayed at the fields of the playlist fb2k
but we would like to see it there  :)  this can be the name of a radio station or channel.
And it seems there is no difference in the behavior of processing playlists .m3u and .m3u8 format.
This is another argument for the main developers to pay attention on fans of Internet streams ;)

but most of all, if i save the playlist "#EXTINF:" with radio name is absent.
