I don't understand why some people consider it useful...
Ivqcl:  the reason I use your Mod2 version is I prefer everything I play to encounter the least amount of processing stages I need before "delivery."  Therefore, I only resample the frequencies that my (admittedly old) audio device would otherwise not be able to play as I bypass the Windows mixer with Peter's wasapi-exclusive plugin.  I understand that an excellent resampler like Sox doesn't add any artifacts.  But, that's my own reason as to why I use Mod2, daft as it may be  :-[
