Lame 3.99 320 CBR Killer Sample?

I tried 3.100i with the -V0 setting now and could not tell it apart from the source flac in ABX at all. (previous V0 ABX I posted was 3.99r) So it seems Halb2 has done a good job . Thanks, will use 3.100i (or your newest L) for my mp3 encodes from now on.

...and if it's the plain -V0 setting, I believe the credit is due mainly to the LAME devs for the improvements in 3.100alpha2 over 3.99.

As I understand it Halb27's extensions to that are only introduced when using his special switches, otherwise I believe it behaves as lame3.100alpha2 behaves.

Well Halb's l version assumes --cvbr auto by default when using -V0 without explicitly telling it differently. Something the 'normal' 3.100a2 doesn't use, right? But for the i version I think you might be right. Credits due to the Lame project then.
