MP3packer tagging as VBR V4

Like the topic says, I am using MP3packer to shrink some 320 CBR MP3s, but in the codec profile section of foobar2000 it now says MP3 VBR V4. I am also using the super-squeeze option. Obviously the bitrates are nothing like what Lame V4 would produce, it's usually around 290-310 kbps.  Is this a bug in the tagging?
