Title: Identify lounge style artist
Post by: southisup on 2011-09-16 02:47:39
Anyone any idea who the performer is?

I've spent a fair while trawling You Tube without success.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dude(ette), you gotta get hip to Soundcloud.

Identified it in less than 10 seconds on my iPhone:  Lee Hazlewood, from his "20th Century Lee" album, long out of print, but here's the full version of the song on YouTube:

Nice one, thanks! I really should have found that myself - I even remember seeing his name come up when searching, but don't remember why I didn't click through.

How did you identify it with Soundcloud? I've used it, & found good music there - usually DJ Mixes, but didn't know you could identify tracks with it.

On the iPhone, their app will attempt to identify any music that it can pick up using the iPhone's mic - I'm assuming there's something similar for Android.

In this particular instance, I plugged my headphones into my PC and then clamped them around the "business end" of my iPhone while playing the track in foobar2000.

Soundhound for Android is similar.

Thanks both. I have an S40 phone, so no apps for me. I did try http://audiotag.info (http://audiotag.info) without luck.

Identified it in less than 10 seconds on my iPhone...

And your solution for people who don't own an iPhone is...?

Edit: Nevermind. Missed the Audiotag post.
