Is APE gapless?

If you mean Monkey's Audio, yes; if you mean "--alt-preset extreme," no (unless you also use "--nogap" & "--nogapout").

Edit: I just realized this was in the "Lossless Encoding" forum, so you can ignore the second half of the statement above. Lossless formats are all (to the best of my knowledge) gapless.
