Cue sheet problem going from APE to FLAC

Hi guys

My this is my first thread on the forum. I hope its in the correct sub.

I have a few .ape files with their respective .cue sheets (and the EAC extraction logfile, if that makes a difference). I've been using CUETools to "rip" individual FLAC files of each song from the .ape files. A few CDs out of the collection have worked, a few haven't (3/17 not working).

This is the cue sheet of one of the .ape files :

The first problem I was having was with TRACK 06. If you look at INDEX 00, its 95:43:56 which is out of range (past 75:17:00) according to CUEtools. Now, I presumed this was an error and changed it to 03:09:33,and it still did not work.

This time, the error was "Exception: Indexes must be in chronological order", which leads me to believe that there is a problem further down the list as well.

This is the same problem I'm having on all three .ape files, "Index out of range" but for different timestamps.

Is there anyone that can help me ?

PS: I hope I used the correct terminology. I'm very new to this stuff.

You could try editing the CUE file to remove all the "INDEX 00" references.  Make a back-up first.

Well, that was quick !

So, I deleted all traces of INDEX 00. Tried it again and CUETools said that the first index has to start at the beginning of the file. So I changed TRACK 01, INDEX 01 to 00:00:00.

Tried to run it again, and CUETools then referred to the .log file and asked me to confirm that was the correct one, which I did.

Then it opened up another prompt and (I'm guessing) tried to match the .cue file online. It found a match (from MusicBrainz Picard database) and asked me to confirm.

I think it used the info from there to do the rip. The files work perfectly and are tagged too.

Amazing software. Thanks for the help.
