For some reason, every time I try to search for an artist, it says that they aren't there.  It only works on a couple which is basically pointless.

http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2640/foobarpp8.jpg

I'm on Muse but as you can see in the quicksearch bar the background is red, implying that it's not there.  If I was on another band it would stay in the same spot, even when I clearly have the band I typed it.

I have it set it searching for artist only.

Anyone know why it's doing this?

Maybe you have changed something by accident, for example the string's criteria("%artist%"->"%artist")?

Oh, off-topic, but I noticed - nr. 12 comes before nr. 11 in "Origin of Symmetry". Suppose it's a bug.

It's crashing on mine (Vista 32-bit)  It works the first time I search but when I try searching for something else it gives me a runtime error and goes down in flames

One question about the "Quicksearch for same..." option. Due to the amount of Compilations i have in my DB, i loved the option of searching for the same title. Bacause of that i moved the Remix information to a Field named "Mix". So i can find all the same songs even its a remix. Now i want the remix information back in the title tag. But then i have no chance to find same titles with the quicksearch contextmenu. Or is there any way???

Thx

Hey,

Is it possible to append search results to a playlist
instead of overwriting previous search? (database search)

zwart

PS thanks for the best fb2k plugin ever :D

I don't know about quicksearch, but if it turns out that you CAN'T configure it, take a look at foosion's database search plugin which lets you add any field and any criteria to the "search for same" context menu.

Simple search,

I'm trying to search for all the Albums that have the following string: space dash space (" - ").
When I enter %Album% HAS " - " I get back any album that has that combination of characters....

For instance I would get XXX-YYY or XXX -YYYY or XXX- YYY or X XX-YYY etc when I was expecting to get only the XXX - YYY albums....

Any help appreciated

Found the solution query should be %Album% IS "* - *"

Not sure if this has been requested before, but it'd be nice if you could choose a custom action to be performed on search results, rather than just dumping them into a Results playlist.

For instance, "Create an album list view from these items" or "Browse" would be particularly useful.

Thanks for the work.

Thanks for this plug-in; the in-line query is a key part of my browsing!

Is it possible for you to make the "quicksearch for..." function customizable?

I search for all tracks of the now-playing album by using "quicksearch for... same directory" but because there is more than one artist with an album of a particular name (album name =directory name)  l get all the tracks for all the artists.

I'd like to make a "same path" search!

That is the next thing I will do, as it has been requested by a lot of users. However you'll have to be patient as I have other things to do at the moment.

Does someone know if it's possible to put the quicksearch panel in more than one window? ex : in a main window and in a POPUP window.

Not possible. However you can unlock the panel so that it becomes an independent window.

could you explain me how to do that? I can't find it. Do I need foo_lock?

Sorry, the undock function is not available in the versions for foobar 0.9.x due to a bug (now fixed) in column_ui. But if you remove the toolbar from any panel, you should be able to activate it as an independant window (look in the menus).

In the playlist the artist/title of webradio streams is dynamically updated. Is it possible to include these updated values into the search? Currently only the saved offline title (usually the name of the webradio station) is used.

If I understand well, you want to search something you are already listening ....

Feature Request:

I am using the Autosearch feature to narrow down my playlist while I type. However, when I clear the search entry, my playlist does not reset to the full view - Ie, I want it to display the full database when I clear the search box.

Is this possible?

I don't think it's a good idea. There is no "reset to the full view" since your playlist contains only the search results.

Just a little request: clear search-textbox on doubleclick  imho, standard word selection is not very useful here..

Let me give you my usage scenario:

By default I use foo_uie_browser, to display my full library in a playlist called *Browser*.

I can use the browser panels to filter by artist, genre or album, but I still want to be able to search through all tags.  THat is where quicksearch comes in.

When I do a search using quicksearch, the *browser* playlist is filtered, which then causes problems with the Browser panels.

Being able to reset the playlist to the full library view would fix this.  My thought on the easiest way of doing this is when the search string is cleared, to reset the playlist to be unfiltered.

A function like that would come quite in handy when your working with one playlist (I personally don't like multiple playlists).
I can see the sense of it when searching in a playlist and not in the database because most of the times you don't want anything to change in the playlist but just quickly find a song and play the rest of the list.
