foobar2000 mobile / Re: foobar2000 mobile files taking up more space on the device than they should?

not by the looks of it. when i look at the album folders on my phone through the "foobar2000 media folder" section, all that's in them is the mp3 files. i assume the album art's just been added as metadata. you might be onto something though.

anyway, since i posted this thread i managed to cut down my music library to fit on my phone by getting rid of stuff i didn't need, so it's mostly no longer a problem for me. still a weird problem that it might be good to get to the bottom of though.
You will need to look in those folders with a separate file browser app to see all files in your media library. Foobar2000 will only show the media files. Just a few folders will tell you if these images have been copied. They are going to be in the Album sub folder, usually named folder.jpg or cover.jpg, something along those lines.

oh, thank you. i didn't know that was the case. yeah, i just looked in those folders with a different file browser, and there are no image files to be seen.
Very strange, there has to be something to show different sizes. Anything hidden, especially images like AlbumArtSmall.jpg, etc? Otherwise I have no other ideas.

Well I reproduced the crashes on windows 10 in artificial scenarios. fb2k 1.6. SMP 1.4.2-dev+06f421e8. Try closing foobar2000. Delete the author key and value or rename package.json to packagee.json. Crashes when try & open foobar2000. I guess this is what regor is talking about. I tested with the bio package.json. Note if foobar2000 is open when you make the changes it'll likely save a valid file on restart & so may not crash. Crash dump below.

Not sure if this is the same crash as reported by Sergey77 for which I believe he sent you the crash dump.
Ofc if you have the packaged loaded within foobar, the json gets rewritten while foobar is loaded (thus reverting the edit). You have to either restart or unload the package, edit the files, and then open the package manager again. And yes, mine happens when opening the package manager. Have not tried the startup case though.

This works with errors (no version)

Thanks for the dump! Yours is a different case from regor's though, since the one you have is a crash on startup.

::)  Having in mind the documentation and the component has not been updated since years, and there is no words about what's supported on the server at all, and I clearly indicated had no idea what was going on... yep. It was an open question, since maybe someone knew the answers.
foo_httpcontrol is essentially a "dumb" webserver. It can serve files, and that's it*. It can serve your .php files too obviously, but there's no PHP backend, so they won't be interpreted in any way.... you'll just get the <?php crap along with all the rest. That's why all templates are .js based as the browser has to do all the work. As you've concluded there doesn't seem to be any way for the webserver to write files on the host. You'll have to rethink that requirement. Or make the user manually create that file themselves.

*It can also obviously handle some very basic queries to return playlist/song image data, but that's not really an extra service running, and I wouldn't consider it part of the webserver.
