Help requested interpreting Cuetools AccurateRip verify log

There are two pressing of your CD in the database: one is shifted by a 31 offset, and that one has been submitted by 5-6 people with the same results. Your pressing has been submitted by two people, but they didn't rip/submit all tracks, just the selected ones (the AR database is track-based, not disc-based, that's why you can get "incomplete" results, because people can, and often do, submit just individual track results).

Anyway, when you see results as this in your EAC log, it's always a good idea to run a CUETools verification afterwards. Then, if you get a "full" positive result with a different offset (as you did in your example), you have a confirmation that your rip is accurate. This functionality ("cross-pressing verification") is supposed to make it into EAC at some point. I think it's already included in XLD ripper, not sure about dBPoweramp.

Thanks for the quick reply Goratrix.

Track 1 in EAC log is: C4D4F2B8
Track 1 in CueTools (first section is): c4d4f2b8 (the same)
Track 1 in CueTools (second section is): 023ba6fe

All of those reported as Accu ok, despite having different numbers.

Are those numbers track id's for AccurateRip? Can the exact same track could have different numbers for AccurateRip?

Yes, dbpoweramp has cross pressing verification. I do wish the GUI would indicate if the AR verification was matched with the same or different pressing(s). The ideal situation is a match with your pressing and at least one pressing with a different offset.

they didn't rip/submit all tracks

How do you know that they each submitted the tracks but submitted different results?

does it matter in this case at all what the exact background of those submissions is? if he gets a full positive match, just on a different offset, it can be considered an accurate rip, or not?

also I noticed just now that I missed something, there are 2 more submissions for that ID that don't show in the log, so it could be some weird combination of multiple pressings with different data in some tracks, right? or just another pressing with an offset higher that the CUETools range?

The data suggests to me exactly the question I posed to you.

In case you weren't aware, track submissions with unique hash values are removed from the public database until they get a match from a different user, unless no other submissions exist for those particular tracks.

Good question!  Was it rhetorical? Is my rip accurate?

That was my ignorant guess.

I also thought that EAC 1.0b1 supported AccurateRip v2 - by the sound of it, that's not the same as this multiple pressing bizzo?

Assuming you have a factory-pressed CD, it was ripped accurately.

I also thought that EAC 1.0b1 supported AccurateRip v2 - by the sound of it, that's not the same as this multiple pressing bizzo?
Checking against multiple pressings can be done with both AR1 and AR2 hashes.  Although EAC still cannot compare rips with multiple pressings, it can compare against a single pressing with either hash algorithm.

Yep, i admit it, i have a 'real' version of a Belinda Carlisle CD.

Ahh.. that explains it. I know EAC doesn't get updated often, in your wanderings (you're everywhere!) have you heard if there's any plans to do it (or if the author thinks it worth doing)? Thanks again Greynol.

Sorry, forgot to try to answer this earlier.  The two submissions that are unaccounted for are from a third pressing in the record which could either be out of the offset range (~10 frames) or could have entirely different data, that's correct.

The request has been made, though there's no guarantee that it will be incorporated.
