Title: Exception: The specified path, file name or both are too long
Post by: Guyver78 on 2020-09-20 16:45:34
I'm trying to split a huge Bach boxset (222 CDs) into individual FLAC tracks. I'm currently on CD46 and the first four tracks process, then this error message pops up for the fifth. How do I resolve it? I'm new to Cue Tools (normally use Cue Spliter) and had to Google how to set it up.

My settings are as follows:

Action: Encode
Mode: Tracks (edit tags, CTBD & accurip all selected)
Audio Output: Loseless (flac, cuetools, eight)
Template: [%directoryname%\]Re-Encode\%filename%.cue

Classical Titles can be long.
1) Do you want to modify the existing tags? (edit tags)
The new track names may be longer than those in the CUE file.
2) The %directoryname%\%filename%.cue may already be near the Windows limit.

If you process CD46 only, the tag editing selection window will popup (popup windows are disabled when you process more than one rip at a time (batch mode)) and you will be able to see/edit the title CUETools is trying to use for Track 5.

Can you post the cue file?
and the full path of %directoryname% (from Output: box)

(unrelated buffer issue)
I assume you're processing multiple rips at one time (batch mode). Be careful not to select too many.

Hey thanks for the reply.

I think it was the length of characters in my output folder path that was tripping the program up. I moved the folder contain CD46 to the parent "music" directory and was able to split the cue with no problems.
