EAC+FLAC: does the bitrate setting have any effect?

I have a question. When i rip my CD's to flac, in the LOG file appears something like this:

Used output format : C:\Program Files\FLAC\flac.exe  (User Defined Encoder)
                    192 kBit/s

This 192kbps can be modified from EAC/Compression options/External compression.

But what it means this bitrate???? Higher or lower this bitrate value affect the quality of the flac??? My rips are lossless I suppose .. or they aren't loosless ?

thank you!!!

It doesn't affect what the encoder does at all.

From what I can tell, the only effect of the bitrate setting is on the estimated compressed file size EAC displays.
