Filing your music collection

I'm sure I saw a thread along these lines, but I'm stuffed if I can find it.
So, what I wanted to know was, what folder structure do you use, and why?
Me, I have one folder with 5,500+ MP3's in it.
Most files are named [artist]-[album]-[track#]-[title], and where I don't know the album, they're just named [artist]-[title].
But I've noticed a lot of people use different hierachies, and I'd like to know if there are particular reasons for that?
Cheers,
Bruce.
