Linux Gentoo Monitor Problem

Hi

I downloaded the basic 1CD version of Gentoo.  I inserted the CD into the drive and let it boot.  After a few seconds the screen goes all funny:

Does anyone know how to get around this ???

Looks like the scan rate is too high for your monitor.  Try switching the monitor off and back on.  If that doesn't work try a different monitor.  If that doesn't work read the docs and try to boot to text mode.
