M4A codec in CUEtools

hi,
sorry if i'm posting this again as i could not find the correct answer for my issue.
i am ripping my CDs with Easy Audio Copy to .wav & am generally converting then to m4a ( so i can use on my iPod &/or iPhone)
on selecting the m4a, lossless format, i get an option to use the "cuetools" & the "ffmpeg.exe" codecs, the cuetools works fine but i cant seem to configure the ffmpeg.exe
please could some one assist.
i'm using the CUEtools 2.2.4

You could also try refalac.exe (included with QAAC)

Here I created a new external encoder and copied refalac64.exe to the CUETools folder.

'codecs' would either be part of the system's user variables %path% or a sub-folder within the CUETools program folder.

CUETools doesn't look for encoders/codecs in an subfolder named 'codecs'/ or 'encoders'. to my knowledge. If you out the encoders in the root of the CUETools folder so does they get picked up and you don't need add the encoder paths in the settings.

I didn't suggest that Path.

So
and I was attempting to point out (to the OP or other readers) what was needed for the particular Path shown in that image to work.
Apparently it was a poor attempt.

I have indicated how it is done with me. The path to the encoder can be specified by a letter.
