plugin request: stereo --> 5.1

Is there any plugin that can convert stereo to 5.1 surround sound without sending all of the high frequencies to the bass like when i click virtual 5.1 in the Santa Cruz Control panel. (when ever i enable virtual 5.1 the bass always overpowers everything and i don't want to have to reset the subwoofer volume all the time)
