how to index large mp3 trax for use in mp3 player

Hello,

I'm a noob on this forum and i'm trying to find out how to burn a MP3 disc for use in an mp3 car audio player.
I've got several audiomixes (30 minutes) which i'd like to play without gaps between the trax but WITH indexnumbers so i can skip to the good parts without having to fast forward to it.

I've heard from .cue files and tried to make a cd (using subdirs) with a cue file like so:

[Megamix compilation]
| \
| [Megamix 2000] --- [Megamix2000.MP3]
| \__[Megamix2000.cue]
\
\
\
[Megamix 2001] --- [Megamix 2001.MP3]
\__[Megamix 2001.cue]

The cuefiles for the [megamix2000] for example look like this:

TITLE "(Ultimate Megamix2000)"
FILE "Megamix2000.MP3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 01)"
INDEX 01 04:45:13
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 02)"
INDEX 01 07:12:61
TRACK 03 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 03)"
INDEX 01 11:31:26
TRACK 04 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 04)"
INDEX 01 14:51:24
TRACK 05 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 05)"
INDEX 01 19:02:05
TRACK 06 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 06)"
INDEX 01 22:12:06
TRACK 07 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 07)"
INDEX 01 24:50:27
TRACK 08 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 08)"
INDEX 01 26:55:38
TRACK 09 AUDIO
TITLE "(Track 09)"
INDEX 01 30:12:26

I've put the cuefiles in the same directory on the cd as the corresponding mp3 file using same names.
When I burn this cd and play it in the car, it turns out that it plays only 2 track on the album :

Megamix 2000 (30 minutes nonstop)
Megamix 2001 (30 minutes nonstop)

Why aren't these files indexed by the corresponding cue files?
The 2000 mix alone should have 9 indexes.

Could anyone help me with this one?
I screwed up plenty cd-r's trying to fix this.

Greetz Raymond.

MP3 players don't support cuesheets

Is there a way to index an mp3 file or cut in up in seamless peices so i can skip through a 30 minute song in stead of fast fw?

yes, you could use MusiCutter to split the large MP3s into smaller ones using the cuesheets, however it won't be truly gapless because of limitations of the MP3 format.
