Yet another song title needed

I'm trying to find the artist and title of a song that
did quite decently in the US charts in 2003. I would
call it a rock song (the Offspring kind). The singer
is a blond fellow, with shoulder-length hair. I don't
know if it's a band or a solo artist.

In the music video, the singer wanders around in
a neighbourhood, (wearing a green t-shirt?) occasionally
saving children from bullies, and periodically pulling
off backflips from tops of cars and stuff. I suppose the
backflip thing is his trademark or sth...

From what I know this song is also the intro song in
an NHL (2003/4?) game for PS2 and PC (EA Games?).

The only thing I can remember about the lyrics is that
in the chorus it says sth like:

"... come to the middle of the ... "
at least twice.
