I don't know why this is happening. I recently tried upgrading to foobar 1.2, which didn't help. If I add a folder which has zip files, it will show a progress bar indicating that it is scanning through, but not otherwise, and it will not add any music. The only way of adding music is by adding tracks one by one.
Any suggestions?

I have also tried reinstalling foobar, and removed all plugins (foo_jesus, foo_input_monkey) which makes no difference. How come no one can explain this? It is notable that I can still individual files, but not the contents of a folder. I think I must find another program if this is not resolved.
Do you press cancel on this progress bar?

No, why would I? The progress bar doesn't even appear unless I have some zip/rar archives with music in them.
What is the exact path to the folder?
What kind of files are there in the folder?
Do you get a plus or a stop sign when drag the folder over the foobar2000 window?
Does it say anything in the Console?

I am dual booting, and on my other install of foobar, I have no issues whatsoever of this kind (adding the same folders actually does something, for instance). It says nothing in the console.
I reinstalled foobar completely (cleaned user data and so on) and these issues seemed to have gone away, until I loaded my huge playlist. Now I can't add music again. Folders contain various file formats, like ape, cue, flac, mp3 and so on. On my other windows install I use the same playlist without any issues.
Running foobar2000 as admin?
What does the console say, if anything?
I now have a new computer, but I still can't add music using the Add Folder option. Does anyone know a music player where this works flawlessly, especially for .cue and .ape files? For instance, XMPlayer doesn't seem to have this option.
Have you tried following these steps?
-file=>preferences=>media library=>music folders=>add
