old ES1370 vs new integrated sound cards?

I wonder if present sound cards integrated in motherboards (like VIA VT1708S, Realtek 8111C, Realtek 1200 and so on) can finally defeat this archaic sound card (Creative SoundBlaster with Ensoniq ES1370 chip)  in classic playback and recording quality. Because as i know, with digital era it's not so easy to make something better against old qualitative analog things. And ES1370 was in past definitelly one of the best.
