I've finally had the chance to test this (version 5), and am glad to say that it now recognizes the %datetime% parameter so it can produce a sorted list.  It functions with radio stream metadata or fixed files, and produces a formattable text file of played songs that looks like this:

2024-12-01 18:54:48 :  Dolly Parton - Shine
2024-12-01 18:54:54 :  Alternative - Radio Paradise Rock Mix (128k aac)
2024-12-01 18:54:56 :  U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday
2024-12-01 18:55:01 :  Alternative - Surf Rock
2024-12-01 18:55:02 :  Krontjong Devils - Midnight Run

The above was produced using nothing but the first tab in the setup, "Now Playing," with settings as shown in the attached image. The usage of the other 3 tabs in relation to the first, described at the GitHub site, is not well documented.  The "Run" tab is supposed to allow sorting the text list newest-entry-first by inserting a script posted there but after several tries I could not get it to do that, and its relationship to the other tabs is confusing.

That said, foo_nowplaying2 (32/64 bit) is a good alternative for those who do not/cannot use the "Play Log" sample in Javascript Panel 3.
