[Feature request] REST API for mobile (Android)?

Hi
I'm looking for an Android player with an API for remote control (TCP connection or HTTP).
writing my own player makes little sense
What are my options to remote control foobar mobile on Android?
Rather then writing my own player I would prefer:
a) use an existing API
b) sponsor an API implementation
c) contribute code for the API
thanks for any pointers  ;)
