Is that video filmed after Paul McCartney died in November 1966 and was replaced by a look-alike.
If so, then the Band members in the video are
  Billy Shears
  John Lennon
  George Harrison
  Ringo Starr

The story of Billy Shears

A quick introduction to the "Paul McCartney is dead" myth
which there are many, for the younger audience.

Feel free to carry on this discussion of a Beatles myth, but do note that the OP was spam this whole time.

Read the comments on that blog post. And notice the dates. Or, if you value your sanity, don't go down that road.

Is this still a thing that people actually believe?

There is a web-site that tries to prove Paul McCartney is dead with photos, with before Nov. 1966 & after Nov. 1966 photos.
Was an entertaining read.
But I have lost the link to that web-site.

Is there a music video of Paul McCartney where he is in the background of a platform video game? From late 80s or early 90s...

I'm really suprised that this old "myth" is still living several centuries later.

I lived through that period and was among those listening to everything backwards to hear hidden messages.

At the time the press converged on McCartney's front gate to see if it was really him there. He hadn't heard about it yet and chased them all away. Then when he heard what was going on he called them all back.

Did people physically use their hands to play records backwards

I mean a LP is roughly 20 to 22 minutes a side

It must have been hard work!

Or was there another method, that I am missing?

I'm not sure how others did it, but I used an old mono tape recorder and flipped the tape.
