Title: print song list
Post by: 69boombox on 2021-03-07 23:50:17
Is there a  simple way to print a song list in FooBar. I tried to attach a screenshot below but I'm not sure if it can be opened. I just  want to print the song titles and nothing else, in a size that fits a cd crystal case. I couldnt find any sections for old babyboomers who still listen to cds. Thanks for any advice.

thanks for an answer. I did install text tools into the components page but unfortunately I dont know what to do next. Would it be too complicated to provide me with the steps to print a song list? Obviously as you can now tell I do not understand anything about how to write scripts or code or commands. Thanks in advance

Select, in foobar, the songs you want to print. Right click -> Utilities -> Text Tools -> Advanced. In the track pattern write %artist% - %title% (or whatever other tag field you want use provided you have those fields present or just use %filename%). Press the "copy" button. You can now paste the selection in a text editor.

Thank you Jazz. Appreciate it. It was relatively easy to do following your instructions. But instead of pasting to a text editor which I have never used I pasted to a blank word document. I then was able reduce the font and go into the design tab of word and make the paragraph spacing tight. Its now almost the size of a cd case. Ill have to tinker with  it a bit to get it to fit. I was wondering if a text editor enables one to create the song list to the size of a cd case? Thanks

Word, by definition is a text editor, of course. If it's already working, why change? For anyone who doesn't have MS Word, there are a plethora of alternatives: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_text_editors (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_text_editors)

I didn't know word was considered a text editor--thank you

The only trick to working with text files with Word, and other word processors is to save the file in plain text format, rather than in the default document format (.txt instead of .doc).
