reading FLAC tags

Any ideas on why one program would read a FLACS and another could not?

My situation is I ripped my cd collection, creating a library of FLACs with EAC+FLAC on a PC.
Now, using my MAC, I'm trying to convert these to aac for iTunes/iPod stuff.

When I open the files in Cog, I see all the tag info - album, artist, year etc. but when I open them in Max ( the tool that converts between different formats ) it only picks up maybe the artist, most of the tag info doesn't show. There's just too many files to go and re-enter all this stuff in iTunes for each album.

Any ideas on how to get around this or avoid it much appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott
