There was an unfortunate mistake with the yello sample, which Sebastian Mares used in the public VBR 128 kbps test. As I explained in the mail Sebastian quoted, the used sample was most likely a Lame -V0 encoded version instead of the lossless original.
However, it is quite interesting that the results didn't show anything special with this sample. (Except naturally the guruboolez's findings, which are quite amazing.)
For further evaluating this I have made a small test package. It contains an ABC-HR configuration file, a new lossless reference file and six new lossy samples. I have replaced the low anchor with a high anchor and Nero with a transcoded sample. Otherwise the used encoders and the settings are exactly the same that were used in the public test. The order of the contenders is not the same with the main test. The package includes an encrypted list of the real order. I will post the key later here.
I would be very much interested to have your results on this new sample. The package is easy to use. Just unrar it and open the Yello2.xml configuration file with ABC-HR. After taking the test save the result in standard txt format and post it here.
Personally, I have not really tried this yet, but I think this is not any easier than the previous yello sample.
The test package is here: Yello2.rar (http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/vaahteramaki/ha/Yello2.rar) (8.7 MB).
The new lossless reference file is available separately here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=40621 (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=40621)
BTW, I couldn't upload the test package to the upload area even I had enough room for attachments. Is there a file size limit besides the global limit?

If I remember correctly it's from their song "Planet Dada", which is on the latest (?) album, "The Eye":

Correct.
Interesting that no one has tried the test yet. Perhaps I should post my own test results.

One of these samples was transparent for me.
I didn't participate in latest Sebastian's public listening test, so can't talk about differences of difficulty.
Interesting to see how this is going?
Edit:codebox
f I remember correctly it's from their song "Planet Dada", which is on the latest (?) album, "The Eye":

Not to be a party pooper but allofmp3 is illegal to use both if you're a Russian or if you live outside. If you don't want to pay much for music, use torrents. Otherwise, stick to amazon/itunes/napster etc
Thanks, haregoo.
BTW, I bought the CD from here and paid the full price: http://www.cdon.com/ (http://www.cdon.com/)
They have some good bargain prices for other Yello albums.
Also, Yello fans may find this release interesting:

Well, the Swedish authoroties have said that until the matter has been further investigated they won't be prosecuting anyone.
Anyway, I bought that CD long before I started shopping at allofmp3.
Besides, with torrents, you can sometimes get 320 kbps MP3s even FLACs
Like I did...
