Title: ABX software for portable players
Post by: traut on 2006-08-18 11:25:17
Hi all,

is there any ABX software for portable players?

I guess this could be built e.g. for players which support rockbox - http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/DeviceChart (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/DeviceChart)

That's mainly Archos Jukebox, Ondio or Gmini; iRiver H100 / H300 series; Apple iPod 4G, mini, color, nano or video; iAudio X5

Supported Sound Codecs, according to http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main...#Current_status (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SoundCodecs#Current_status) :
Mpeg, Ogg Vorbis, MPC, AC3, AAC/MP4, some lossless and SID, MOD, MIDI

Another family might be those players which support flash, such as iriver U10 / clix - but as far as I know sound will be turned off while 'playing' flash. U10 supports MP3 (MPEG 1/2/2.5 Layer 3), OGG, WMA, ASF

On one hand, a PC based solution offers much better options for software upgrades and comparisons.

But on the other hand, the typical application is within portable players - and it's difficult to compare with their predefined operation systems.

(thanks to the admin for fixing my subject typo)
