I am getting complains about inability to add Youtube URLs. Until recently I could not reproduce this issue, but now I'm finally getting the same error.
Steps to reproduce:
Install clean portable foobar2000 and add just https://www.youtube.com (or https://www.google.com) using "Add location..."
Here is what I have:
- it started to happen at the end of March and not at the same time for all users
- it does not depend on Windows version (well, at least Win7, 8,1 and 10 have it)
- error message depends on foobar2000 version:
1.3.17: Security error: Untrusted root certificate
1.4 beta 11: SSL authentication error
1.4 beta 13: Network authentication error (800b0109)
Hello 3dyd!
If I'm trying "check for updated version" of YouTube Source plugin I get error (see attached).
Also the link to your site https://fy.3dyd.com/ isn't available for me (Secure Connection Failed).
For Your Information.
Thanks.
I use:
Foobar2000 v1.4 beta 13
Windows 10 home v1803
foo_youtube v2.3.2 beta 2
This topic is for generic HTTPS certificate checking problem in foobar2000 when accessing Google sites. Problems persists on clean foobar2000 installation without any 3rd party components.
Regarding to your case - I believe you are accessing the site from Russia. Site is hosted on AWS and belongs to one of subnets blocked by RKN (see https://rkn.darkbyte.ru/amazon.php, network 52.58.0.0/15). Checking for updates tries to access this site, so it is also not working. I won't be doing anything with this.
Thank You for your answer.
Sorry for my off topic.
Problem confirmed, thanks for reporting.
800b0109 is for CERT_E_UNTRUSTEDROOT, so it's just one and the same issue, just different foobar2000 versions report it differently due to internal changes.
Beta 14 posted, the issue should be fixed.
Confirmed. Fixed in beta 14. Thank you.
