Lookup on musicbrainz not succeeding

Now and then it happens that I ask foobar2000 to look up a CD on MusicBrainz, and I get the response MusicBrainz lookup: No matching entry. But if I then go to MusicBrainz Picard and ask it to look up the same CD, it comes back with a positive response; sometimes, not always, because I have gone to the trouble of putting the data there myself beforehand.

I guess that this results from a disagreement about the MD discid. I won't speculate about why this might happen, because I don't know enough. But it would be nice if there was a way to direct foobar2000 to the appropriate MB discid as reported by MB itself, or at least get a log message that describes why the lookup has failed.

Is there a way around this?
