Playlist is overwritten after using search function?

I can't search for a song without my playlist completely disappearing.
Reproduce:
Add a folder w/ music to the media library
Make a playlist or add it to the default playlist
Search and enter any query, even an empty query
The selected playlist will disappear. Tada!

This never happened to me in older years. Also, it seems that my default playlist doesn't track any folders added to the media library watchlist like it used to. This is unfortunate and makes foobar kinda useless.
