I don't know if there's still someone working at the development of aoTuV, but I've found a pretty bad killer sample that is easily ABXable at -q 6 (192 kbps), some kind of "sandy" noise is introduced.

What version of aotuv did you use?
I checked cursorily the latest version (beta 6.03) it sounds quite well.
