foo_record from non-primary source

I tried searching the forum but couldn't find any information about this topic:  Is it somehow possible to make foo_record pickup sound from another sound source than the default recording device?

I am trying to pipe my system sound through foobar, to be able to use foo_musical_spectrum from the music I listen to at youtube and spotify and rainwave, and I also want it to pick up sounds from games I play.  It works as long as Stereo Mix is my primary recording device, but if I want something else to be my primary it doesn't. Is this possible, or am I searching in vain?

The component currently offers no option to change the recording source and always uses the default.

Alright. Well, thanks the headsup, I'll look to see if I can solve it some other way then. Cheers!

(Also, mad props for making the component to begin with, Case!)

You can download virtual cable driver then set virtual card as default sound device in windows control panel and route all sounds to vst host.
Set your F2K for Virtual Cable output and route to VST host as input and fill VST host with some plugins like compressors and enhancers and set the Vst host output - your sound card as Realtek eg.
And set in Vst host last one in chain - generic vst recorder.

Freeware:
Virtual sound card - http://www.breakawayone.com/downloads/ -  Download Breakaway Pipeline
VST host - freeware  -
Pedalboard2 (v2.14) http://www.niallmoody.com/apps/pedalboard2
Some good compressor -  Jeroen Breebaart Broadcast - JB Broadcast.vst http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=548

Windows 10 update 1803 includes the ability to configure default playback and recording devices per application.
