Looks like bluecoastmusic.com only offers wav if you want 16/44k download.
soundkeeperrecordings.com offers only wav and aif as downloads.

Can anyone make a 4-bit variation of QOA? It's needed because 3-bit quality is sometimes not enough. I've tried to make it myself via ChatGPT but I got a garbage output. Also, contacting @phoboslab didn't help.

I've taken a look at my browser history from a year ago, but I can't seem to find any. I may well have mixed things up: I found some stores that only offered WAV, perhaps I misremembered.

Upgrading should handle it automatically. If you have a standard install, your current settings live in %appdata%\foobar2000. The first time you run fb2k 2.0 or later, it will create a new folder %appdata%\foobar2000-v2 and it will import settings leaving the original files untouched.

If you have a portable install, just point the installer at the old folder and again it should be automatic. But there will no backup so I'd make your own first to be extra safe.

If you use 3rd party components then you can't easily migrate from 32bit->64bit. You have to track down all your needed components and install them manually. Of course not all have been updated. Sticking with 32bit fb2k 2+ is easiest for most.

Is there any way to copy setttings from one foobar2000 installation to another, i.e. playlists, preferences, converter settings, visualisation settings?

I'd be transferring from v1.6.13 to the latest available.

Your first attempt at Rice improves more than a percent at compression and thirteen at speed? :-o

(IIRC, FLAC computes the Rice parameter as the average residual. It is close to optimal.)

Thanks a lot for today's update, these columns no longer make my eyes bleed. However, there's lots of other places where tabular figures would be appropriate, e.g. ReplayGain tab in Properties window, Album List, ReFacets, etc., etc. Wouldn't it be easier in fact just to use tabular figures throughout the whole app and just forget about this problem? After all, proportional figures only look good in continuous text and foobar2000 mostly consists of lists and columns...
