R.I.P. The Hardest Working Man in Show Business...  nobody has been honored more by other artists, his songs being the most often sampled music ever, and nobody can ever touch that.

This came as quite a shock. On BBC streaming radio just a couple of months ago, I enjoyed his performance at the "Electric Proms" and he didn't sound under the weather at all (though clearly not as intense as he used to be decades ago). The guy is such a hero of mine; the only other fellow I can think of who can actually make such a zany persona work is Prince (well, Prince is probably even weirder).
