Nero Recode setting for H.264/AVC missing

I would like to try Nero Recode for preparing video for the iPod.

Simply to compare the quality, speed, ease of use, with that of QuickTime and Videora.

However only the "Standard" profile is available and the converted file is not in H.264 / AVC format.

I have Nero Recode2 version 2.2.6.17 as part of a full license Nero 6 purchased in October 2003.

How can I enable H.264 / AVC encoding?

Found the answer

When Nero Recode2 starts up:
- Click More to get the full list of options
- Select an appropriate Profile from the pull-down menu

I'm pretty sure the subtitles will only show in Nero Showtime.

@sehested - what settings are you using to make the videos iPod compatible?

Videos encoded with Nero Recode2 don't transfer to the iPod.
Even at 491 + 128, single pass, lowest quality, no checkmarks.
Not even after removing the special non AV tracks using QuickTime.

Conclusion: Wait for Nero to update Recode with appropiate options for encoding video for iPod.

Still waiting for Nero to support the "new" 640x480 H.264 feature on iPods after September 2006.. If you also want Nero to update Recode, you may want to support my petition.
