Whats the best way to detect missing audio section?

I'm hoping someone here has a good idea in how to detect were in a WAV file audio may have been sliced out?

If you can't tell by listening, it's probably going to be impossible.  For example, if you had a recording of an interview or conversation, I'm pretty sure I could edit-out part of it in an undetectaible way, as long as the dialog still made sense.
