XLD LAME 3.98.2 -v setting

I've been using XLD on my macbook for a while now, and because i don't usually encode on MP3 i didn't notice that there is no way to change the -v setting on the lame encoder. Usually they recommend -v2 for transparent encoding, but it doesn't show which one it uses.

I just wanted to ask if anybody knew which -v settings it uses, and if it uses a low quality setting is there any way to change it.

There is. Click the option button, and if VBR is selected, the slider is enabled, and the number on the slider's target quality is the same as the -V switch.
