EAC: Is this the right place to ask simple questions?

I've just migrated to Exact Audio Copy from CDEX 1.7 (because CDEX stopped writing track numbers into the ID3 tags; probably something to do with a Windows 10 refresh which was forced upon me).

Is this a good place for asking  simple questions? Once I've ironed out the few wrikles I've encountered, I'll leave you in peace.

I've not checked if I'll get email responses on updates, so if you don't hear back from answers, please wait for me to catch up.

There is an English language official support forum at http://www.digital-inn.de/forums/exact-audio-copy-english.14/ , but many HA users know EAC very well. I am not one of them, but here are a couple of resources:

* Knowledgebase articles: http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Exact_Audio_Copy#Exact_Audio_Copy_guides
* The search function :)

Although EAC is a great tool, I would also have considered CUETools - and the application I use myself, dBpoweramp. All three support AccurateRip, which IMHO is an essential tool for CD ripping -  http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=AccurateRip . CUETools also has a database that can even repair some cases of faulty rips.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I tried to register at  http://www.digital-inn.de/forums/exact-audio-copy-english.14/ but my lack of German, and Google's poor translation made it impossible.

I couldn't work out what answer was expected from the CAPTCHA, and now it tells me I have to wait.

Scroll down that page and change the language from "Deutsch [Du]" to "English (US)".

Thanks for that tip. I'm now registered.

When I tried to start this reply, my browser was on a previous version of this thread, with your post not showing, and I was warned that I should review the thread. But I couldn't find an easy way to refresh this thread. In the end, I went back to the email that had notified me of the first reply, and clicked the link there.

There must be a better way of doing this; what  am I missing?

Incidentally, I worked in IBM UK's technical support, and ran an internal website. I followed so many newsgroups/forums that I nearly got sacked. But my  skills in this arena have sadly  dwindled since I retired a few years ago.

I found the way to  refresh my browser's view of the thread... F5 (the universal keyboard "refresh" mechanism). I've been using  this for only about 5 years, so it hasn't yet sunk in.  :D
