External linking (specifically to Wikipedia)

Particularly for stub articles, are there any objections to creating a link to the related wikipedia article?

For example, providing the Wiki article for Nyquist rate for this page.

They could serve to provide additional information where the current wiki pages are a little sparse.

Yes and NO. Wikipedia is NOT a credible source of information. If would be better to reference a book or a technical webpage. I came to realize when I was putting together some technical wiki pages that book references are the best as are technical websites. I know how to cite sources using various methods via MLA or APA. I don't know if there is a "standards" per say with wikis though.
