Can Dance-Pop be put into the Pop category?

Hello, I've noticed that some of the Madonna albums are listed as Dance-Pop but she is often referred to as the Queen of Pop. So I guess every music that falls into Dance-Pop can be put into Pop as well. Right? Just aksing because my music collection has very few genres and I would prefer to have the main/root genres instead of a sub-genre like Dance-Pop.

The reason I asked was because Dance-Pop also derives from Dance. Thank you!
