Crash at the end of the installer

Beta 3 and 4 crashed on install, but otherwise seem to function normally.

Crash at the end of the installer

Much better.

For what it's worth, this version did not crash on installation for me, while betas 3 and 4 crashed at the end of installation.

Fair enough.  I'd just note that the only crashes I can recall (at least several months) have been installing betas 3 and 4, and even then the crashes didn't interfere with the install so far as I could tell. Hard to troubleshoot something that's so rare.  I suppose the issue with problematic components is that problems can be erratic.

thanks

Do you auto-submit your crash reports? I see only one entry matching your current IP, submitted 3 days ago. It looks like a problem with iTunes libraries invoked by foo_dop. If you have other reports that you wish me to look at but did not auto-submit them, feel free to zip them up and post them in the uploads forum.
Microsoft Windows: We can't script here, this is bat country.

Reproduced the issue with iPod manager/Apple libraries. It doesn't seem to get triggered on 64-bit OSes, but it's some kind of race condition I think. Anyway, I'm looking into a fix or workaround..

I've put up version 0.6.9.4 with a workaround.

It would be good if you could verify the problem is fixed: if you close foobar2000 and run "foobar2000 /quiet" several times before updating iPod manager, it should crash on some of the runs, but that should stop after updating to 0.6.9.4.

foobar2000 /quiet does not crash on repeated tries.  I run foobar at least once a day and I can't remember the last time it crashed, other than at the end of the installation of beta 3 and beta 4.  At this point I'd think the problem is more random fluctuations in the force than anything reproducible.

As suggested by shakey_snake and the troubleshooter, I had removed comserver2.

Anything else I should check or info I should provide?

I can post the earlier crash log, if you or Peter think it would be helpful.  As Peter noticed, I submitted for beta 4 but not 3.

Not unreproducible if it happened twice on installation? The installer silently launches foobar2000 in a similar way, but perhaps the preceding installation operations had an influence in your case. The problem is just ill-written Apple libraries, in this case calling two functions with a particular short time interval in-between them results in this nonsense. It should be fixed anyway.
