Difference between AccurateRip V1 + V2 + CTDB ?

I´m from Germany,
and search for long for exact information how AccurateRip and CUETools Database exactly works.

1) Whats the difference between Accurate Rip V1 and V2?

2) Whats the difference to CTDB?
Which Data does CTDB collect? Checksums as AR? Or more information? Completely ripped CDs? How is the "repair-information" there created?
Why does it not work together with AccurateRip?
Accurate Rip DB could be increased/further developed - aditionaly with repairing-information from now on...  Why is there an extra database created?
What´s the plan?

3) Its very difficult to get detailed information about AR and CTDB in Germany / german language.
There is no such information to be found.
Is there something that explains me how all that works?
How are Checksums exactly created? Are they really always unique? And so on....
Who invented the databases? Where are they stored?

Thanks!
