Plugin to check for plugin updates

Hi, I recently found myself with extremely outdated versions of many of the plugins I use, and I've had to search for the most recent versions around the internet.
I'd like to know if a plugin that periodically checks for updates for other plugins exists, or if someone has thought about realizing it, though I suppose it would require an online repository of all the existent plugins.

Thanks, at least next time I'm looking for updated plugins I can find them in one place
