Currently playing song in the UI

Newbie question follows...

When creating new playlists I preview some songs before adding them to the list. However, I haven't found a way to display the song info with an UI element - it just appears in the window title.

How can I show e.g. %title% - %artist% - %genre% - %date% only for the previewed song in a separate container?

make a box and add the UI element called Selection properties to it then in settings-Display tick off Prefer currently playing track

I tried that before, but it eats up too much space: the unneeded header that sticks out with a different font style/colour plus 5 lines of info where just one would do. It seems there is no way to remove the header and customize the info contents, other than selecting metadata, location, general etc.

then use JScript 3 text display and make it show what you want only.

You're so damn right, genius.

I went File | Preferences | Components | Get more components, and there searched for "text display". The only find led me to Text Display 1.1 beta 1.

My brain must have played tricks on me, because there I saw something completely different to what you posted.

you need the component called jscript panel 3 its linked right there in Marcs signature he is the developer
