Playing in mono - use foobar or Windows settings?

Hello! I am deaf in one ear so need mono output to one earphone. Will I get better sound using Foobar to downmix channels to mono (using its DSP manager), or by simply turning on the 'Mono audio' setting in Windows 10? Any ideas? Thanks!

I think the quality is likely to be the same either way, but as the Windows setting would be system wide I think that might be best for your case, set and forget!

Thanks for the reply. In the end, my new Sony earbuds change stereo to mono if you only use one of them in any case.
