<LENGTH> tag?

Some of my mp3s display a <LENGTH> when I view tags in MP3Tag. Some don't.

Is it so that some files do and some don't, or is it just nonstandard placement/formatting/mapping that leads MP3Tag to display only some but not all?

Are these really good for anything? (Does the answer depend upon player? I use fb2k, which does not display any of these for mp3s.)

I don't think I have encountered anything that appears to be iTunes-encoded which has this, but that is maybe in these fruity Comment tags?

Could be the TLEN ID3v2.3 tag, which LAME always includes, but is completely unreliable and thus useless, because some software puts garbage in it. It's also not sample-accurate, IIRC.

Does not help gapless playback or anything such?

(fb2k still displays > 60 different tag names in my library, so I'd like to get rid of the unnecessary ones ...)
