EAC - "Cannot be verified as accurate" but CTDB all "Accurately Ripped"?

I understand AccurateRip is an entirely different database from CTDB's. But this is the first time I'm seeing "cannot be verified as accurate (confidence #)" in AccurateRip with all CTDB results showing no differing samples. I always see CTDB with differing samples if the AccurateRip comes back as "cannot be verified as accurate (confidence #)"

Can anyone tell me what is going on? This is a brand new factory pressed CD (not CD-R) made in 2011 or after, I had a close look at it in different lights and see no scratches, wavy lines, splotches, etc.

In the underside of the silver hub there is d:centiaTEC2011023, couldn't find out what that means on Google

All the tracks that verified in AccurateRip for your pressing appear to be (confidence 2).
When there are only 2 rips for the same track and they don't match each other, both entries are removed from the database and put into limbo until a rip is submitted that matches one of them. Then the two that match go into the database.
One of the two previous submissions for this pressing may have had issues so no entries currently exist in the database to verify some of the tracks.
'Cannot be verified as accurate (confidence 4)' - The 4 is likely from a different pressing.

When there are only 2 rips for the same track and they don't match each other, both entries are removed from the database and put into limbo until a rip is submitted that matches one of them. Then the two that match go into the database.
One of the two previous submissions for this pressing may have had issues so no entries currently exist in the database to verify some of the tracks.
'Cannot be verified as accurate (confidence 4)' - The 4 is likely from a different pressing.

And yet CTDB shows no differing samples out of 6 submissions all being the same, if I am reading that right? That is what I am wondering about.

Hmm, tried dbpoweramp on the same CD drive/PC and all tracks verified with AccurateRip

Just a different ripping engine doing a better job with a problematic disc?

For instance track 15 that gave a different result in EAC:

CRC32 from dbpoweramp is identical to EAC's test and copy CRC. Yet the Accurate Rip CRC is now matching what is in the Accurate Rip database: E83353BB     and different from what I got with the EAC rip.

This is confusing?

The AccurateRip plugin in EAC can only check if that exact pressing exists. dbpoweramp is using cross-pressing verification and found v1 and v2 matches at Pressing Offset -6 (not for your exact pressing). Look at track 14.

Once your rip is submitted to AccurateRip (and sufficient time has passed for the database to update) you could check the rip again to see if any of the 17 were in limbo for your pressing. As long as all Accurate tracks are at least (confidence 3)[1] you'll know one of the rips isn't yours.

CTDB stores multiple pressings in one place. The CTDB plugin showed all tracks Accurate in the EAC log.

Ahh excellent, thank you! I never heard of "cross-pressing verification" but doing an exact search for that term turns up loads of information.

I can certainly do this. I take it makes no difference whether I do this in dbpoweramp or EAC?

You could use PerfectTUNES or CUETools to verify without re-ripping

So even with the database having access to that information it will increase the AccurateRip number when the same disc is ripped on the same PC/drive?

I have AccurateRip set to submit every 30 days, I've made a reminder to verify with CueTools in a couple of months.

I'm fairly certain you can't confirm your own (confidence 1) rip (including from the same IP) and you can't increase the confidence using the same machine, software and drive but I don't recall if rips are accepted for different combinations (same machine, different software, same drive, same IP or same machine, same software, different drive, same IP, etc.).
