Encoding with LAME from iTunes

The new iTunes 7 with gapless is enough to make me abandon foobar-- save for one feature.

I like using lossless to encode cds, then reencoding from lossless -> lossy. I like LAME too. Is there any way to encode from Lame 3.97 and the latest command lines, inside of iTunes?  A google search brings up some app, but it's mac-only and I'm on a PC

No way to do it from the PC version.  iTunes-LAME uses Applescript and is a Mac-only thing, like you said.
