MP3 - Tech / Most extreme/best encoding settings for LAME at 320kbps
Last post by darkalex -
Without an LPF, with enough encoding complexity, I don't really care about the time taken as I just have to make the files once... so I need an absolute best sound quality preset for LAME at 320kbps CBR

Yeah I know people say it's transparent at that point, but still...

This is what I made right now:

-b 320 --priority 4 -q 0 -m j --lowpass -1

What else can I do

MP3 / Re: Low bitrate MP3 (+ unsupported bitrates)
Last post by Klymins -
As I said in topic#126642, I detected that MP3Enc also knows how to encode unsupported bitrates in CBR (and almost certainly Flash uses it for all bitrates), and I found that MP3Enc can encode 12kbps CBR files with pretty good quality when the bandwidth is increased to 4kHz (the default bandwidth is about 3.5kHz and I think it's too low). The quality of GXLame at this bitrate was quite poor even with a cutoff that is as low as 3.5kHz despite the fact that it was ABR, so FhG is really superior at not-so-high bitrates.

'Album Artist' does not have to be 'Various Artists'. When used, the 'Album Artist' tag just has to be the same for all tracks of the same album.
For example, when an album has featured artist(s) on one or more tracks, you would use the primary 'Artist' as the 'Album Artist'.

MP3 / Re: An MP3 encoder without a cutoff point

It is not actually possible for frequencies to extend all the way to the cut off, but depending on the sampling rate, resampler and how you analyze the data it may look more or less like it does in a spectrogram, or you may see distortion and confuse that for audio frequencies.  How close does it look?

Sorry, I couldn't quite understand that, can you explain a little more?

Radio Player First Release.

Three folders must be created in the Radio Player folder:

images (here you have to put a no_cover_api.png image)
logos (here you have to put the radio station images .png)
pdf (here you have to put the pdf files)

logos files and pdf files must have exactly the same name, change the extension for example:

Radio Free.png
Radio Free.pdf

more explanations later...

General - (fb2k) / Easier way to Play All for an entire album?
Last post by mikerizzi -
Howdy,
Foobar200 noob here (though long time dedicated dbPoweramp user). Still navigating around using the player.

How does one Play All an entire album. So far, I've only be able to mimic that functionality by emptying the Default Playlist and the selecting the album in the left pane, right clicking and select "Send to Current Playlist" and then the whole album starts playing. Is there a simpler way to just play a whole album?
Ideally, a single button press.

Thanks in advance,
mike

Here's a screenshot.  Red is a SMP that's simply filtering by lossy/lossless. The first SMP of each orange pair in the green tabstack is sourced from the red.  The second SMP of each orange pair in the tabstack is sourced from the first in the orange pair. Pink is a playlist view.  I get the error message for whichever SMP is first in the layout.  It's been popping up since before I added the lossy/lossless section.  My total library is just under 20TB across two hard drives.
