Will I get better sound playing cd's on a dvd player?

I think that needs to be quoted, because the reason of a lot of people calling themselves audiophiles and supporting their personal opinion and subjective testing focus on the first sentence quoted alone. Obviously my criticism comes from the ones who take that to the extreme, as to giving the question of the doubt to any product followed by any claim of improvement.

Everybody knows that absence of proof is not proof of an absence.  But how much absence do we find before we begin to suspect that proof is going to be elusive for a long time if not forever?

Sorry for the interference. Just felt like dropping that there. It isn't answering directly to the OP.
